With reference to two " unequal treaties" signed by China in the period 1842-1902, analyse the nature of "unequal treaties" and their effects on China.

I don't know how to answer the first part, can some body give me the frame work of the first part??

Suggestion: Think of these questions.
What sort / kind of treaties are they; their essential characteristics/ qualities?
  • The time/circumstances when they were made.
  • What so special about these treaties, e.g. Treaty of Nanjing? Why is the word "unequal" used to describe them?
