最近行山時常拍照,想如相機能把位置記下,我可以在地圖上標記及顯示不同地點所拍的景色多好,但市面一般相機都沒有此功能。用智能手機的衛星定位系統(GPS)吧,也未能將訊息直接記在手機所拍照片上,然後放上網;必須其他軟件輔助,幾煩。
剛看到台灣宏達電HTC將推出新的PDA手機 Touch Cruise 09 (其實是舊酒新瓶) 有一Footprints 功能能記下座標,且一旦完成影像拍攝，Footprints 將自動以該位置名稱為相片留下標題。外國網站說HTC其實是利用新加geotagging軟件,及突破geotagging功能的裝置只能在室外使用的限制，在室內一樣能夠發揮功能。據說也適用在影片上。

但手機拍照質索及功能仍比DC相機差,耗電大或電量不足。總有一天正規相機也普遍地支援geotag,不再單是古老的time-stamping. 將來的遊記不單只是平面文字死照片,而是互動及立體式以至全景式地在google地圖上按路線(仿汽車導航)浮現出圖片及影片來。
